As already reported, these days Istanbul Besiktas are making another attempt to agree on co-operation with former Dynamo Kyiv head coach Mircea Lucescu. But it turned out that the Turkish grandee has more serious plans, the realisation of which consists of two stages.
"Besiktas" is now communicating not only with Lucescu, but also with the famous ex-German national team striker Miroslav Klose, who last year began an independent coaching career (in Austrian Altach), and is now out of work.
At the first stage Besiktas, in fact, intends to create a coaching tandem Lucescu - Klose, but the defining role in it will still be the Romanian specialist - he will be the head coach of the team, and the 45-year-old German will be his main assistant and will learn skills from a more experienced mentor.
Both specialists have already been offered this format of work and corresponding contracts for a year and a half each. At the end of this period, according to the plan of the management of "Besiktas", Lucescu, who by then will be 80 years old, will retire, and the new head coach of the team will be Klose - this is the second stage of the current plans of the Istanbul club.
