Steaua general manager Mihai Stoica has come out in defence of rivals ČFR after Yevhen Konoplyanka criticised his now former club for the unattractive football put on by the coach and wage arrears.
"I don't believe a word Konoplyanka said. He still received money from FIFA as a foreigner. I believe he is lying through his teeth. Konoplyanka has a lot of bile. Saying that ČFR are playing hit and run - I don't think so. If they played like that, I wouldn't consider Panayiotis Tachtsidis a footballer. In my opinion, BSFR does not play like that (as Konoplyanka said - note)," - said Stoica.
Recall, Eugene left ČFR after less than six months in the team. The Ukrainian winger came on as a substitute in four matches, totalling just over 50 minutes. According to ProSport, Konoplyanka asked the coach and the president to keep him in the team, but they refused.
