Former Dynamo Kyiv head coach Mircea Lucescu has clarified the situation regarding his negotiations with Turkish Besiktas, which yesterday, let us recall, officially announced the appointment of Portuguese Fernando Santos as their new mentor.
"My refusal to Besiktas is only related to the fact that I don't want to take over the team before the start of next season. I don't get involved in solving problems in the middle of the championship, it can turn out to be anything. So the question about my future career I will decide later," - quotes Lucescu AntenaSport.
Recall, the other day representatives of Besiktas personally came to Bucharest to persuade the Romanian coach to co-operate, but these talks did not yield results. Lucescu gave his consent to start working with the Istanbul team immediately after the end of the current season, but this option did not suit the Turks.
