Midfielder of the national team of Ukraine and Belgian Westerlo during the club season 2023/2024 Serhii Sydorchuk started as the captain of Dynamo Kyiv.

On 5 September 2023, Belgian side Westerlo announced the transfer of the experienced midfielder, and 10 days later Sydorchuk made his debut for his new club. Since then, the 32-year-old Ukrainian has taken part in all 14 of his team's matches in the Pro League. And every time Sergiy came out in the starting line-up, and only in three games did the coach change him in the last minutes. On 4 November, in the game against Leuven, our player scored the only goal for Westerlo so far.
With Sydorchuk in the squad, the team conceded only four times and managed to stay out of the relegation zone of the Belgian Premier League standings during the Christmas and New Year holidays.
Westerlo will start the second part of the 2023/2024 season on 20 January, when they face Brugge away in the 21st round.
