Honorary member of UEFA, former UEFA vice-president Grigory Surkis commented on the appointment of Andriy Shevchenko as UAF president.
"I catch myself thinking that this non-alternativeness accompanies Andriy throughout his career. It was reflected in the victories of Dynamo and the national team of Ukraine, high-profile successes, in the Golden Ball, which he dedicated to the memory of Valeriy Lobanovskiy. This is what characterises him better. Andriy's next challenge is not only a new perspective for domestic football, but also the Ukrainian future in international organisations," Surkis said.
