Dnipro-1 Commercial Director Vyacheslav Fridman shared his thoughts on the idea of UAF Vice President and head coach Serhiy Rebrov regarding the possible resumption of the Ukrainian U-21 Championship in a commentary for Tribuna.com.
"We don't know yet, we just understand that these are additional costs. There is no clear understanding yet. We haven't thought about it yet, honestly.
But why, for example, not to do it in the same format as the Women's Premier League? They can agree on a deal like this: 10 clubs from the UPL, 4-6 from the First League. Why is it an obligation for clubs to participate? For example, those that are financially unable to do so.
I want it to be on a voluntary basis, not a compulsory one. I think it would be fairer. We need to understand the situation of the clubs - there is a war going on, and it is difficult for businessmen to get money. I'm sure that 2-4 clubs from the first league would play if they had a good financial situation," Friedman said.
