At the beginning of the game, it was not very clear which team had just started training, and even fielded a not-so-basic line-up, and which would soon be playing in the championship. There was a lot of movement on both sides, and the pace seemed decent. However, it did not translate into effective action for a long time.
In the 16th minute, Dynamo's first meaningful counterattack took place. The Ukrainians managed about ten accurate passes. Ponomarenko finished the combination with a slightly inaccurate shot from the penalty line. On 31 minutes, the Poles managed to open the scoring. Wszolek passed without resistance from the right edge, and Ernest Muchi scored with his head. 0:1. "Dynamo responded in four minutes. After a shot from the left, Matviy Ponomarenko sent the ball into the net past the goalkeeper with an elegant move on the near post in a fight with the defender. 1:1. And the first half ended with another strange failure of Dynamo in front of their penalty area, which resulted in Rafal Augustyniak driving the ball into the right corner of Bushchan's goal with a strong shot from the half-circle. 1:2.
After the break, Dynamo's squad changed by 90 per cent. And while the new Kyiv players were getting used to themselves on the field, the score could have been 1-3: Morgun pulled the ball out in a leap after an opponent's shot from five metres out, and the Pole got into the striking position with the White and Blue defence completely indifferent at the moment of a long pass from deep in the field. And in the very next, very similar moment, the Dynamo goalkeeper could not help: Blaž Kramer ran between the Kyiv centre-backs, received a vertical pass and calmly hit the goal. 1:3. "Dynamo tried to create something up front, but the lack of passing and ball handling broke down all combinations.
