Former president of Donetsk's Olimpik Vladyslav Gelzin has spoken out about the appointment of Andriy Shevchenko as the new UAF president.
"Today there is great hope that people who really want to bring our football back to the proper level have come to the UAF. I hope they will restore confidence in the Association and completely change the judiciary. We need to make sure that all the players and coaches believe in the honesty of the referees again.
I think that with Shevchenko's arrival, everything will change for the better, there will be transparency, a well-established management and control system. Under Pavelko, the UAF was a completely closed structure.
I am glad that Shevchenko brought a new team with him. These are people who have achieved a lot in Ukrainian football. Yes, they may have little experience, but they have a great desire, and this is a great prospect for Ukrainian football. Time will tell.
In his programme, Shevchenko declared nine points that provide for the openness of the UAF and the development of our football. This is what I said earlier," Sport Express quoted Gelzin as saying.
