Dynamo Kyiv has completed its first training camp in Turkey. Oleksandr Shovkovskyi's men will have 3 days of rest after which they will move on to the final stage of preparation for the second part of the UPL.
The main conclusions of the first meeting
Lack of results. Dynamo managed to defeat only the Uzbek champion Pakhtakor (5-1). I don't see any critical problems in this, because the team is working under physical exertion, hence the large number of individual mistakes. We need to lay the foundation for physical training for the second part of the season. The team is clearly under physical strain. The coaching staff is trying different combinations of players. The match against Metalist-1925 is only on 24 February. Therefore, there will be an opportunity to gain playing conditions.
Injuries. Oleksandr Tymchyk and Volodymyr Shepelev did not spend a single minute in sparring. There is no official information on these players. It is known that they were on the list of those who went to Turkey.
Vitalii Buyalskyi played only against Balkani. Samba Diallo, Benito, Vladyslav Supryaga were injured. Andriy Yarmolenko is recovering from an injury and should join the general group at the second training camp.
Youth. Taras Mykhavko and Matvii Ponomarenko are working fully and playing in sparring matches on a par with the first team. So far, neither has made an impression. Everything is going to go to the point where they will play for the youth team again in the spring. Oleksandr Shovkovskyi gave time to young players - Oleh Husiev, Dmytro Kremchanin, Andrii Matkevych, Kyrylo Pashko. This is rather an advance. We shouldn't expect the first team to be strengthened by young players just yet.
Personnel issues. The central defender has not yet arrived. Every week there is a new candidate. If someone is signed, we will have to say goodbye to someone. 5-6 central defenders are too many for the UPL alone. And in general, 29 players are too many for the second part of the season, when you need to play only in the UPL. Therefore, we will have to say goodbye to some of them. Among the main candidates are Naveen Malysh, Samba Diallo, and one of the backup goalkeepers.
A chance for Ramadani. Oleksandr Shovkovskyi switched to a formation with one holding midfielder. The Macedonian Reshat Ramadani got his chance, and in the second part of the season he will become an alternative or replacement for Volodymyr Brazhko.
Diallo's disappointment. Samba makes a very bad impression. Absolutely no creativity up front and an unwillingness to work in defence. Years go by, and Diallo does not take steps towards adult football. A conditional loan to Zorya would not be a surprise.
Problems with creativity. Individual mistakes can be explained by the lack of team chemistry and heavy physical activity. But the lack of scoring chances at the opponents' goal is very difficult to explain. If we don't take into account the match against Pakhtakor, Dynamo creates very, very few chances up front. So far, the pressure hasn't worked at all, and we can't rely on individual actions. Especially when Buyalsky and Yarmolenko are out of action.
Expectations from the second training camp
"Dynamo must gain game conditions from match to match. The emphasis should no longer be on physics, but on fitness and chemistry. We will see the squad that will start the second part of the season. We do not expect any serious personnel surprises compared to the first part of the season.
