Former Lviv U-19 coach Roman Gdansky spoke about Dynamo defender Taras Mykhavko, with whom he worked at the Lviv club.

"He is a fairly versatile footballer. He has such potential that he can play in any position. In the U-17s, I saw him more in the middle because he has a good vision of the field, good technique, good passing. He is also a good attacking, scoring player.

Later it turned out that he was rebuilt in the centre of defence in the U-19, there was a different coach at first. I thought that he should have revealed himself more in the middle, because he is a player with a bias towards attack. Even when he plays centre-back now, he is very good at joining the attack, he is drawn forward there.

When I took over the U-19s myself, I didn't put him back in the centre of the pitch - there were other players there, and he got used to his new position. In the middle, he probably needed to have a little more physical endurance to run back and forth. But in the centre of defence Taras feels comfortable - he plays well with his head, has a good long pass, a good start to the attack, reads the game, is strong in martial arts. God willing, he will continue to develop in this position.

He probably needs a little confidence. He is young, he has no experience yet. But it is within his power. I communicate with him quite often, suggesting some everyday or game moments. He is a capable boy. At one time, he was not very serious, and I had to conduct a somewhat harsh educational process with him. Now Taras has changed and matured. He recalls how he used to take some moments and hints lightly, but now he says: "Yes, as you said, it's working out somewhere, your tips have only been helpful." He just needs time and confidence.

I think he can easily compete for a place in the starting line-up. The coaches know better what condition he is in and how ready he is to take this position, but in the future, I think he will become a core player sooner or later," Gdanskii said.
