Oleksandriya's official statement on Kalyuzhnyi's participation in the match against Shakhtar

"Oleksandriya has issued an official statement regarding the situation with the participation of the team's midfielder Ivan Kalyuzhnyi in the Ukrainian championship match against Shakhtar.

"We would like to inform you that, unfortunately, midfielder Ivan Kalyuzhny was not announced for FC Oleksandriya in the match against FC Shakhtar on 26 February 2024. We apologise to all the fans, the team and the coaching staff. This unfortunate mistake happened due to the human factor.

Ivan Kalyuzhny has been a player of our club since 2021 and has played for other clubs on loan at various times. When entering the player in the application for the game in the UPL system in the "Referee's Report" section, the system perceived the player as declared, although he was declared on 29.08.2023, which did not allow us to respond to this situation in a timely manner.

The sports director was suspended from his duties. The case has been referred to the control and disciplinary committee, which will make a decision on this incident," reads a statement on the official website of Oleksandriya.
