Dynamo U-19 head coach Ihor Kostiuk commented on his team's5-1 victory over Veres Rivne in today's youth championship match.
- We were well prepared for this game, we understood the strength of the Veres team. We did what we had planned to do, in particular, high-speed transitions, scored our goals and brought the match to victory.
- There were few dangerous moments at the beginning of the first half, did the weather affect the course of events on the pitch?
- We started the first half aggressively, applying high pressure on such a pitch, and it benefited us in terms of ball selection and creating chances. I won't say that there were no dangerous episodes, it just didn't work out with the finishing. But when we scored the first and second goals, we calmed the game down and then brought it to a logical conclusion by converting our chances. The opponent opened up a bit, and we scored three more goals.
- This is the third match in a row that your team has won with a big score, are you satisfied with the chances they created?
- Yes, I am, but there are still things we need to work on when completing attacks to make sure we convert our chances more coolly.
- How can you explain the goal conceded in the last minutes?
- It was the result of the players' lack of coolness. They felt that we were winning and allowed themselves too much. I told them that they shouldn't do that, but rather play the match to the end, not giving the opponent a chance to create chances at our goal.
- The first-round game ended in a 1-1 draw, what has changed in the game of both teams since then?
- We have become more mature, more confident in ourselves and our actions, so today we achieved a natural victory.
