Former Ukrainian Romanchuk may receive a call-up to the Polish national team. He said his family was tortured by Bandera

Jagiellonia's central midfielder Taras Romanchuk may receive a call-up to the Polish national team for the play-offs for Euro 2024, Meczyki reports.

In 2019, during a match against Wisła Płock, Taras had a conflict with the opponents' player Dominik Furman. Romanchuk claimed that Furman was talking about Stepan Bandera.

"We are fighting against discrimination, and he throws words about Bandera. It was hard to control my emotions.
My family was also tortured by Bandera, and he says this to me. This is disrespectful. Today I shook his hand for the last time. I won't do it again," Romanchuk said.

Przeglad Sportowy reported that Furman called Romanchuk, who is of Ukrainian descent, a "Banderite" and a "dyed fox".

The 32-year-old footballer, who was born in Kovel, played 1 match for the Polish national team. It was a friendly game with South Korea (3:2) in 2018.

Судячи з усього, Домінік був правий, порівнюючи цю істоту із фарбованим лисом з казки Івана Франка.
