Former Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard has revealed why he turned down an offer from Chelsea in 2005.
"I had a strong connection with Liverpool, the club from my hometown. For me, the most important thing was to win trophies and remember what those victories meant. Four or five trophies with Liverpool would mean a lot more to me than 10 or 11 trophies with Chelsea," the Liverpool Echo quoted Gerrard as saying.
