German sportswear manufacturer Adidas is planning to stop selling German national team shirts with the number 44 on them.
Photo: Getty ImagesAs Adidas spokesman Oliver Bruggen told DPA, this will be done in response to criticism that the number 44 resembles the symbol of the Nazi SS.
- "Adidas employs people from around a hundred countries, we promote racial diversity and inclusion, and as a company we actively oppose xenophobia, anti-Semitism, violence and hatred in any form," Bruggen said.
