Already former Estonian national team captain Konstantin Vasiliev has been caught up in a scandal after making a statement regarding Russia's war against Ukraine.

If both sides decide to talk and make a peace treaty, maybe there will be peace. What people want to hear has nothing to do with what I think. It doesn't mean I'm on anyone's side.
It is unfathomable to me what is happening in the world. Five years ago I would not have believed that such things could happen now, and in my current state I don't have to answer why it happened, how, for what reasons," Delfi.ee quoted Vasiliev as saying.
After his statements, Vasiljev faced huge criticism that he even decided to give up the captain's armband in the national team.
We would like to add that from 2007 to 2014 Vasiliev played for various clubs in Russia.
