If Bayer wins the Bundesliga, and if the team maintains a winless streak in the Bundesliga until the end of the season, the German Football Association can award the club two championship trophies: the classic silver salad bowl and the gold one.

"So far this case is not spelt out in the statutes. As always, the German champions will receive the championship trophy," said the German Football Association.

If Bayer wins the championship, the awarding of the team will take place on 18 May in a match against Augsburg.
