Andrey Nedelin, CEO of Metalist 1925, commented on the information that the Ukrainian Premier League clubs have voted to allocate funds for referee bonuses.
"There is a position called 'other'. 'For', 'against' or 'other'. Our club voted 'other'. Our club considers it necessary to form a fund for bonuses for UPL referees, we believe this is a productive step towards improving the quality of the work of referees - when they are not influenced by external factors in any way, they will work for a proper salary. This, we believe, is very good.
But we are not very satisfied with the formula proposed by the Federation. We do not consider it necessary to make an advance payment for the formation of this fund. We support payment for the next season with the approved participants of the UPL-2024/25. And we do not consider it necessary to make a contribution to this initiative in hindsight," Nedelin said.
