Renowned journalist Serhiy Tyshchenko shared his vision of the situation in which Ukrainian goalkeeper Andriy Lunin of Real Madrid is currently finding himself.

"Let's call a spade a spade - there is a war between Real Madrid and Lunin. Each side uses all kinds of methods to put pressure on the other.

Andriy's contract with Madrid is valid for another year. There are no questions about money or terms under the new contract. Lunin and his agent Mendes want guarantees that Andriy will not turn into Courtois' understudy and play a couple of matches a season. For him, this is the end of any prospects at the top level. It is clear that Perez or Ancelotti cannot give such guarantees. As an experienced agent, Mendes understands that the summer of 2024 will be the best chance for Lunin's transfer. Who wouldn't want to sign Real Madrid's main goalkeeper for down-to-earth money? Next summer, Lunin may have a completely different reputation.

"Real Madrid is putting pressure through its own channels. Ancelotti has already announced that Kepa will play the next league match against Sociedad because the Basque is working well in training. Courtois will be ready for the game against Cadiz. No one can guarantee that Lunin will play both matches against Bayern. If you start talking in the language of ultimatums with Perez and Real Madrid, no one will pat you on the head.
