Former Dynamo Kyiv head coach Mircea Lucescu did not accept the offer of Bucharest-based Rapid to take up the position of the club's general director with a five-year contract.
According to Fanatik, the 78-year-old recently held a meeting with one of the owners of Rapid, Dan Shucu, during which he told the businessman that he refused the offer, as he believes that now is not the right time for such a job. In addition, Lucescu is not satisfied with the prospect of competing with Dinamo Bucharest, a club with which he has many ties.
Earlier Lucescu confirmed that he plans to continue his coaching career, but he will not make any decisions before 1 June.
