Former defender of Dynamo Kyiv: "It's very hard for me, but I've made a decision..."

Red Star centre-back Aleksandar Dragovic has announced his retirement from Red Star at the end of the current season.

The day before, the footballer held talks with the Serbian club's management and made it clear that he was not going to extend his contract but intends to return to Austria.

"It's very difficult for me, but I have decided, in consultation with my family, to return to Austria," Dragovic said.

Most likely, Austria will become the veteran's new club. It was here that the Austrian with Serbian roots began his professional career, and in January 2011 he moved to Basel for 1 million euros.

It will be recalled that in the summer of 2013, Dynamo Kyiv paid Basel 10 million euros for Dragovic, and three years later sold the centre-back to Bayer Leverkusen for 21 million euros.
