The head coach of the Slovak national team, Francesco Calzona, met with journalists on the eve of the Euro 2024 game against Ukraine.
- The first game was difficult. David Hanko was injured, but now all the players are fine. I think Ukraine has great quality and identity. They have been playing under a new coach for some time now.
It will be a tough game, but we also have our own quality. Our biggest strength is patience. We have to give 110 percent if we want to bring joy to our people. We are very happy to see so many Slovak fans, like in the game against Belgium. I hope they will continue to support us in the next games.
I don't think it was difficult to prepare the players mentally. The euphoria after the victory over Belgium lasted for several hours, but three points will definitely not be enough to go further. There is no reason to celebrate yet. We are fully focused on the match," said Calzona, in particular.
