During a routine medical examination, Dynamo midfielder Vladislav Kabaev spoke about coming back from vacation and shared his impressions of his first days at work.
- A month of vacation is a long time for me. I rested for two weeks and visited my parents in Odesa. Then I started doing the individual work that the coaches gave us all. I missed the ball, the team, the atmosphere. A few days ago, I returned to Kyiv, played basketball, tried tennis for the first time, got positive emotions, and can make it my hobby. I spent more time with my family and met with the teammates. We had dinner, discussed the vacation, shared our impressions of where we were.
And yesterday we all started training together with new emotions that overwhelmed us. In general, it was a normal day after the vacation: there was a lot of running work during the training session and less with balls, which the players do not like very much. But we understand that the foundation will be laid over the next few days, so we are fine with that. We will prepare for the next season in a good mood.
- Was it very dangerous in Odesa?
- I read that there was a rocket attack just today. My father lives in the village and didn't hear anything. During these weeks when I was there, fortunately, everything was calm as well. But I noticed that there were much fewer people in Odesa. It's a resort city, and usually there are many more citizens and visitors in the summer. Now it's empty.
- What are your impressions of the medical examination? What was special about it?
- Everything seems to be as usual, we do a full health check-up, a thorough check-up, take tests, it's a necessary thing. We'll know what's missing in the body, and maybe the doctor will prescribe some vitamins. Regular medical examinations are a must. I don't really like getting up early, but you have to get used to it. Besides, I have a small child, so it's already a habit.
- What will you pay attention to in the next two weeks in Kyiv?
- After so many years in football, I already understand well how the foundation is laid. I understand that these days there will be a lot of running work. Yesterday the coach said that we would first get involved in the process, then work more with the balls. Later, perhaps, there will be a control game. We have a lot of people now, and the coaches have to decide who will go to the training camp.
- What do you expect from the upcoming training camp in Austria?
- Training camps are always difficult - whether in Turkey, Austria, or Kyiv. But we go through it every year, so everything is fine. We have to prepare very well for the upcoming league and Champions League games. Dynamo always has the highest goals - to win everything we can.
- What was your reaction to the draw and our opponent in the second qualifying round , Serbian Partizan?
- It was normal. We know that Serbia is not a very pleasant country for us, but this is the draw. Whether they have fans or not doesn't make much difference. I don't want to say too much - time and our games will tell. We still have a month to prepare and be in the best possible condition for this match.
