On the eve of today's opening match of Euro 2024 (U-19), against the host of the tournament, the Northern Ireland national team, the defender of our youth team Taras Mykhavko shared his thoughts with the UAF press service.

We need to win because this is the first match, and it is important to start the tournament well. All of us are ready and looking forward to the game. Northern Ireland is a very organized, disciplined team. They are the hosts of the Euro, and they will be very motivated because their fans will come. But I hope we can cope with this pressure and win.
There is no excitement as such before the start of the Euro. Everyone is focused, concentrated, knows why we came here, what we want. That's why we are in a fighting mood.
We know that we have a lot of support in Ukraine and that the military will be watching the matches. And we are playing for them first and foremost and thank them for the opportunity to play here," emphasized Mikhavko.
