UAF President Andriy Shevchenko was present at yesterday's match of the 2nd round of the group stage of Euro 2024 (U-19) Norway - Ukraine (0:0). After the end of the meeting, he gave his assessment of the game of the youth national team of Ukraine and evaluated its chances of getting out of the group.
"I was at the match not as a father, but as president of the UAF came to support the national team (in the duel Norway - Ukraine took part in the son of Andriy Shevchenko, Christian, who came on as a substitute in the 65th minute of the game - ed.).
It was a very good game of our team. The Norwegians are a strong and powerful team, and the guys did well today.
We have a chance to get out of the group, we need to play with the Italians to win. At this stage there are no ordinary games. And today the guys fought to the end," - Shevchenko's words were quoted by the telegram channel UAF.
We would like to add that a round before the end of the group stage of Euro 2024 (U-19), the tournament position of the teams in Group "A" is as follows:
1. Italy - 6 points
2. Ukraine - 2
3. Northern Ireland - 1
4. Norway - 1.
In the final round in this group will play: Ukraine - Italy, Northern Ireland - Norway. The best two teams from groups "A" and "B" will qualify for the semi-finals of Euro 2024 (U-19).
