Former Ukraine and Shakhtar goalkeeper Yuriy Virt analyzed a gross mistake by Dynamo goalkeeper Ruslan Neshcheret in the 2-1 Ukrainian league match against Veres in the 2nd round of the Ukrainian championship, which led to a conceded goal:
"There was a banal pass, as they say, to nowhere from the Rivne goal. Neshcheret could have easily waited for the ball to get into the penalty area and fixed it. But for some reason, the goalkeeper decided to run outside the penalty area and make a pass to one of his teammates. It was an elementary predictable game situation and, apparently, this ease led to a loss of concentration. Neshcheret failed to hit the center of the ball, there was a kick, and the ball from the running Rivne player rolled into the empty net.
This was not even a gross mistake, but just a childish mistake of the keeper, which can happen only once in his career. But, of course, this does not make it easier for Dynamo. After all, after the missed goal, the match in Rivne was no longer a pleasant walk for them. Although, apart from this accident, Ruslan's teammates should have no complaints. Moreover, the visitors' field players were not blameless, failing to realize half a dozen goal-scoring chances.
What would I advise the young goalkeeper? Analyze the mistake and forget about it. It was all yesterday, and at today's training session, try to be even more demanding in the performance of your duties and prove to the coaching staff that you are worthy of defending the No. 1 position of your team," said Wirth.
