Ruslan Rotan, the former head coach of the Ukrainian Olympic team, explained why Rukh winger Ilya Kvasnytsia did not go to the 2024 Olympics.

- "We wanted Kvasnytsia, but before the Olympics we had a conversation with Hryhoriy Kozlovsky. He emphasized that their training camp was also very important. We negotiated for the players, and we negotiated for those who went to the Olympics.

Those who did not go - let's just say it was our agreement. Otherwise, we would have gladly taken Kvasnytsia. We wanted to take him to the match in Japan, but then there was a youth team. Unfortunately, due to an injury, as we talked to Rukh at the time, he did not go to the training camp in France for the tournament. So everything is simple," Rotan said.
