Sports journalist Andriy Senkiv, who was recently mobilized to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, expressed his opinion on the video "Fugitives Abroad" by Toronto Television. The video tells the story of Ukrainian men of conscription age - artists, bloggers - who left Ukraine after the outbreak of a full-scale war.

"F*ck, there should have been Ukrainian football players here - Dovbyk, Mudryk, Yarmolyuk and others. For example, Dovbyk went with Dnipro-1 to a European Cup match, was supposed to return, but joined Girona. Tsygankov, Trubin, and Zabarnyi have similar stories (they went to training camps or something like that). All of them, of course, did not return when they were supposed to.

Okay - players of the Ukrainian national team, okay - ambassadors of something. Okay, there is no legal framework. But it's encouraging that the players are talking about it in public. Sudakov, for example, dreams of playing in a top championship. Other less talented players are also talking about going abroad. How do you plan to do it? How the fuck?

Well, there's no point in talking about the less hype brotherhood at all. A bunch of ordinary UPL players go to minor championships and give interviews about adaptation there. If this issue is raised in other areas somehow, then here it is absolutely f*cked. It's a different world. Pretending that there is no elephant in the room.

It's also surprising. There are players or coaches who defended the state in the first months of the war. They served a little and that's it - they continue to work. But how did they resign from the Armed Forces? Or did they not? The logic is as follows: I have no right to talk about this, because I did not do what they did in the first months. But there are a lot of people who did what they did, but couldn't say to themselves, "I fought, I got fucked up, I got injured, I'll go back to work. It doesn't work that way.

Once again, I'd like to give kudos to Vernydub, Bohdanov, and others, but damn. How did you do it? What is the algorithm? Public people have to speak publicly about uncomfortable things. Not just to get laurels. And somehow it works so crookedly here. I don't rule out that it's also because journalists also have a lot of skeletons in their closets on this topic," Senkiv wrote on his page on the X network.
