Ukrainian midfielder of Spanish side Girona Viktor Tsygankov was injured in his team's match against Dutch side Feyenoord in the second round of the main stage of the Champions League.

According to the estimates of sports doctor Dmytro Babelyuk, Tsygankov injured the muscle of the posterior surface of the thigh and now for sure will not help the national team of Ukraine in October matches of the national team of Ukraine with Georgia and the Czech Republic.
"Viktor left the field because of an injury to the muscle of the posterior surface of the thigh. In view of the fact that this particular injury has been bothering the player since Euro 2024, and from which he recovered only at the end of August, it can be interpreted as a relapse.
The typical mechanism for this injury is a sprint plus a muscle strain (reaching for the ball).
Victor is an experienced and intelligent player, so his reaction was telling. The winger left the field, understanding the nature of the injury and the approximate period he will miss. At least 3 weeks should be recovered from such an injury. Even if it is the first degree of injury, Victor will be able to return to the field not earlier than on October 23.
However, given the recurrent nature of the injury, it would be worth taking a longer time for a more reliable recovery.
Also, according to the player's reaction it was not completely clear whether it was a back injury, but the nature of the injury is definitely muscular.
