10th round of the Ukrainian championship. "Obolon vs Dynamo - 1:5. Match review, statistics

This weekend are the matches of the 10th round of the Ukrainian championship of the season 2024/25. On Saturday, October 19, Kyiv Obolon and Dynamo met in one of them. The match was held at the Obolon Arena stadium in the capital.

"Dynamo" could open the score already on the 6th minute, when Brazhko softly crossed to the center of the home team's penalty area and Vanat unhindered made a clear and accurate header from about 11-meter mark, but Fedorivskyi managed to convert the game to a corner. However, five minutes later the ball still ended up in Obolon's goal: Brazhko passed again, this time down the right flank to Vanat, he gave it to the Brewers' penalty area, Medynsky intercepted the pass, but the ball hit Priymak, bounced right to free Shaparenko and he hit the target with a shot from 7 meters - 0:1.

Later Dynamo had full advantage, so it is not surprising that soon Shovkovskiy's wards scored the second goal. On the 19th minute of the game Shaparenko brought Vanat to the operational space on the left flank, the latter gained speed, went almost one-on-one with Fedorivskyi, was about to strike a blow on goal, but at that moment was knocked down by Dubko in the penalty area of Obolon - a penalty, which was clearly realized by the victim himself, 0:2.

Five minutes later, Vanat had every chance to score a double, but, shooting header from the goalkeeper's line, sent the ball straight into the hands of the Obolon goalkeeper. But on the 29th minute of the match Dynamo forward still managed to score from play: as a result of an excellent pass from Brazhko, he went one-on-one with Fedorivskyi from the right flank and hit the ball into the near corner of the Brewers' goal - 0:3.

Vanat could have scored a hat-trick: he again went one-on-one with Fedorivskyi (this time after Popov's pass), beat the Obolon goalkeeper, but hitting the bar from an acute angle into an empty net. As a result, the fans did not see any more goals in the first half.

As soon as the game resumed after the break, Dynamo brought the score to a smashing one - it was Karavaev, having received a pass from Kabaev, took the game on himself, broke into Obolon's penalty area from the right and sent the ball into the net with a confident shot - 0:4. However, just three minutes later, the Brewers scored one goal: Mikhavko, intercepting Bliznichenko's shot at the near post, cut the ball into his own net - 1:4.

The Brewers' goal changed the pattern of the game, revitalizing it and energizing the fight. Dynamo still controlled the match, but Obolon started to play more aggressively, with a completely different mood. However, even in this situation, Shovkovskiy's team managed to build on their success - it was Brazhko who left no chance for Fedorivskyi with his trademark cannon shot from 20 meters - 1:5. And this goal broke "Obolon", the rest of the match it spent frankly inert. And the Bilo-Syni did not show much zeal in attack. So the scoreboard did not change this evening.

After this result, Dynamo continues to lead in the Ukrainian championship standings, ahead of the second-ranked Oleksandriya by two points.

In the next round Dynamo will have a home match with Shakhtar Donetsk. This meeting will take place on Sunday, October 27, in Kyiv at the Dynamo stadium named after Valeriy Lobanovskiy (kick-off - at 18:00). And before that, next Thursday, October 24, Dynamo will play a match of the 3rd round of the Europa League main stage against local Roma in Rome.
