Former coach of Kyiv "Dynamo" Alexander Khatskevich spoke about what he expects from the match of his former team against the Italian "Roma" in the 3rd round of the main stage of the Europa League, which will take place this Thursday in Rome.
Alexander Khatskevich— Alexander Nikolaevich, “Dynamo” looks confident in the Ukrainian championship, but equally insecure in European cups. What kind of game do you expect in the match in Rome?
— I look forward to this match with hope because the guys themselves need to understand that the level of the Ukrainian championship and the level of European cups are very different. In terms of intensity and the cost of mistakes, it is very high. Therefore, I hope that with each game "Dynamo" will improve in the European cups and gradually achieve results, which are still in first place.
— “Roma” lost to “Inter”, and overall the team looks not very stable this season. How much can this factor help “Dynamo” achieve a positive result?
— I don’t know about “help,” because if we take Dynamo's previous opponent in the Europa League, “Hoffenheim”, they also did not look very stable in the Bundesliga. Nevertheless, in the game against Dynamo, this team looked convincing. I watched the Roma game with Inter; it is obvious that the Romans need to redeem themselves at home, in front of their fans.
I think that “Roma” will be even more motivated in the match against “Dynamo” to compensate for this domestic failure in the championship. Moreover, they also lost their last game in the Euro campaign to the Swedish “Elfsborg”. Therefore, an unsuccessful game against “Inter” will make the players of “Roma” play more aggressively against “Dynamo” and try to achieve victory.
