On Sunday, October 27, in the match of the 11th round of the Ukrainian championship, Kyiv "Dynamo" drew 1:1 with Donetsk "Shakhtar". The match took place in Kyiv at the "Dynamo" stadium named after Valery Lobanovsky. We present to you the post-match press conference of the head coach of the visiting team, Marino Pushich.
- The red card certainly changed the game. It completely changed it. Unfortunately. When teams were equal in numbers, we played excellently and dominated. I believe we had an incredible match today in terms of building our attacking game and in terms of building our defensive game. The players of my team were fantastic today.
As for the incident with the red card itself, I didn’t really see it in detail, so I won’t answer your question for now—I need to see the video replay of that moment first.
Being in a minority, it became harder for us. Nevertheless, we had moments to close the game. But we didn’t do that. In the end, a draw. This is certainly not the result we wanted to achieve today. We are all disappointed. But I am proud of the team, proud of how they played today. I am satisfied with the way we played both when we were full strength and when we were ten men.
We deserved more, but in football, it happens that you don’t always get what you deserve.
Only 10 matches have been played, and there are still 20 ahead. So it is too early to say that the fate of the championship is already decided. But "Dynamo" is currently the favorite in this race. At least for the reason that they are not overly focused on their performance in the European Cups. I don’t know why. In any case, I can assure you that we will fight until the last. Yes, we are currently six points behind "Dynamo," but I can confidently say that this does not affect our mindset. We will catch up with "Dynamo" and overtake them while the championship goes on.
