Taras Mikhavko: "In terms of play, we surpassed Viktoria"

Defender of Kyiv’s Dynamo Taras Mikhavko commented on his team’s defeat to Czech Viktoria (1:2) in yesterday’s match of the 5th round of the main stage of the Europa League.

— The emotions after the game are, of course, negative because we didn’t get the result we could have. It seems to me that we surpassed the opponent in terms of play.

We lacked realization first and foremost. We didn’t convert the chances we had. For some reason, we are unable to score from simple attacks. Even a basic goal in the Europa League was not coming our way. I don’t know what this is connected with. But overall, the result is negative. So there are no more words.

— The field was difficult, the ball was bouncing a lot. Did this condition of the pitch affect your game, your attacks?

— Of course, the pitch was not in the best condition, and it may have affected our game somewhere. But still, we had enough moments to realize them even on such a pitch. The field was the same for them and for us. So it doesn’t make sense to talk about it. We just didn’t score what we should have.

— Do you hope to continue fighting for the Europa League playoffs, or will you focus on the Ukrainian championship?

— Regardless of any result, we will fight until the end both in the UPL and in the Europa League. We always aim to win and achieve a positive result. So of course, we will fight.

— What words would you like to convey to the fans who support you?

— I want to thank them for supporting us wherever and whenever. So I sincerely thank everyone who supports us, and we will only strive to please you.

— And to those who hate?

— Haters will always exist, so we try not to pay attention to them.
