The publication “Ukrainian Football” conducted a traditional referendum among domestic coaches, officials, and journalists at the end of the calendar year to determine the best in Ukraine for 2024. Today, the results of the survey in the “Best Player in Ukraine” nomination were published.
Each respondent in the survey named their version of the top three foreign players. The nominee received three points for first place, two points for second, and one point for third.
As a result, the winner in the nomination was the former defender of Kyiv's “Dynamo,” currently playing for the English “Bournemouth,” Ilya Zabarny, who scored 273 points. Recall that the 22-year-old footballer also won the “Legionnaire of the Year” nomination.
The second place was taken by the forward of the Italian “Roma,” Artem Dovbik, who became the top scorer of the Spanish league last season while playing for Girona, with a total of 231 points. The midfield of Donetsk’s “Shakhtar,” Georgiy Sudakov, rounded out the top three with 150 points.
It is worth noting that there were three players from Kyiv's “Dynamo” in the top ten of the survey results — Vladimir Brazhko (5th place), Nikolai Shaparenko (7th), and Vladislav Vanat (8th).
Dynamo.kiev.ua's choice in this nomination was as follows: 1. Ilya Zabarny, 2. Vladimir Brazhko, 3. Artem Dovbik.
