The Telegram channel "Secrets of the City Hall" reported the details of the merger of Lviv "Karpaty" and "Rukh":
"Hryhoriy Kozlovskyi is closing the football team "Rukh", leaving only the children's academy.
For the past few days, many people have been asking the question: why, what happened. The answer is complicated, but in a word — money. The merger, in fact, the consolidation into one team, has football and business aspects.
1. The agreement was negotiated directly by Kozlovskyi and Matkivskyi. The conditions under which the players will transfer are a question that they need to settle in the near future.
2. Kozlovskyi will receive a decent suitcase of money from all this — for the players now and a percentage from their future sale.
3. Young players will be trained at the new base in Vynnyky (where the Markevych stadium is) and this will be the football school of Lviv Karpaty.
And now the business part.
1. The part of "Emely Resort" which was positioned as a football base will be partially closed for the continuation of the construction of hotels/apartments. But this is already Kozlovskyi's business.
2. Financing a team like "Rukh" cost up to 5 million euros a year by various estimates. Now, with the functioning of the tobacco factory in great question, he can no longer finance his club. The completion of hotels on Doroshenka and Sichovykh Striltsiv is also in question - during the crisis, expenses must be optimized.
Based on this, a decision was made to merge the team.
Everyone benefits, except for the staff and management of "Rukh", most of whom will have to look for new jobs."
