Ukrainian defender of London Arsenal Oleksandr Zinchenko is firmly settled in the reserves of his team.

The 27-year-old player was included in the application form of the "canoniers" for today's match against Manchester United (1:0), but he was not in the starting line-up of Arsenal. As well as among those players who came out this evening as a substitute - the Ukrainian spent the entire game in the reserves.

This is the third time in a row, when Zinchenko "warms" the bench: before that the Ukrainian missed the matches with Bournemouth and Tottenham. Last time on the field Ukrainian appeared on 23 April, when in the match "Chelsea" he came on as a substitute in the 72nd minute of the game.

Zinchenko has played 34 matches for Arsenal in all competitions this season (24 times being in the starting line-up) and he has one goal and two assists.

  • Lewandowski's agent tells if Pole will leave Barcelona in summer

    12.05.2024, 20:15

Barcelona forward Robert Lewandowski's agent, Pini Zahavi, has revealed whether the Pole will leave the Catalan club this summer.

"The information about Lewandowski's departure from Barcelona is nonsense, fake news. Robert will stay at Barca for one hundred per cent," insider Fabrizio Romano quoted Zahavi as saying on Twitter.

  • Myroslav Stupar: "The practice of appointing arbitrators by blind draw should be stopped"

    12.05.2024, 19:51

Former FIFA referee Miroslav Stupar has spoken out about the match between Shakhtar and Dynamo in the 28th round of the Ukrainian Premier League.

    - "I think the referee saw the moment with the penalty kick against Dynamo involving Vivcharenko, but he did not have enough concentration to determine whether it was a violation. The VAR referee gave the signal to review the episode, Shurman watched it for a long time and fairly awarded an 11-metre penalty.

There are also questions about the episode with Sudakov and Popov, in which Shakhtar's player received a warning for simulation. I wonder if the referee had watched this moment on the VAR, would he have given a penalty? At the same time, the VAR referee also missed this moment, although it was not so clear.

We can't say that the referee made a mistake in Shakhtar's favour, that Dynamo lost because of the officiating, but we need to stop the practice of appointing referees by blind draw, especially for key matches. After all, it is possible to be appointed to referee a match in which countrymen will play, and this will put additional pressure on the referee not to make a mistake in favour of his "own" (Oleksiy Derevynskyi from Kyiv - ed.). There should be no conflict of interest in refereeing.

"Shakhtar had a better first half. They would have been happy with a draw. Both teams had the desire, but Shakhtar won. Dynamo has a pattern of play. Despite the fact that Kyiv has young players and they will add more next year, they have a reserve. Perhaps they will buy someone, but Kyiv already look good. We expect progress for the next championship," Stupar said.

  • Viktor Tsygankov may leave Girona in the summer

    12.05.2024, 19:27

According to As, Bayern Munich have long wanted to sign Ukraine winger Viktor Tsygankov. El Gol Digital also adds that Girona will seriously consider offers for Tsygankov in order to sell him for a lot of money, which will allow the team to make new acquisitions.

However, it is pointed out that Tsygankov's departure will be a serious blow to the club's ambitions, so the "white and reds" will try to keep the Ukrainian. This is especially true in the context of Girona's upcoming Champions League appearances next season.

In this year's campaign, Tsygankov played 31 matches for Girona, scoring 6 goals and 5 assists.

For the first time in ten years, Atletico Madrid may change the team's main goalkeeper.

According to Relevo, Jan Oblak is ready to leave the Matras in search of new experience. This possibility has already been discussed between the goalkeeper's agent and representatives of Madrid, who agreed not to prevent his departure if a convincing offer is received.

It will be recalled that Oblak joined Atletico from Benfica in 2014 for €16 million.

  • Mykhailo Kopolovets: "Tymoshchuk showed everyone that he was a sincere Ukrainian, and then to betray him like that..."

    12.05.2024, 18:40

Former Minaya director Mikhail Kopolovets once again spoke out about former Ukrainian footballer Anatoly Tymoshchuk.

    - "Tymoshchuk could show some kind of position. I'm not talking about stars, they are corrupt people. Tymoshchuk showed everyone that he was a sincere Ukrainian, and then to betray him like that... I tried to understand why he did that. It's clear that he has a family and a business. But betraying your people is not worth the money for me. He could have found a mechanism to leave there for Europe. To sell something. Because these are your people - your family and friends are all here. I think these people don't exist for us anymore. We should forget about them, there are many of them.

Were Tymoshchuk investigated by the special services? I think so. Look at the team he worked for for so many years. At Zenit. Of course, they worked with him, one hundred per cent. But we don't know all the nuances, maybe he didn't have a chance to leave. Although, maybe he is already their brain, we don't know," Kopolovets told the Lvivych YouTube channel.

  • Adrian Pukanic: "The fans wanted more, but we have what we have"

    12.05.2024, 18:16

Former Ukraine national team player Adrian Pukanych shared his impressions of the Shakhtar vs Dynamo match.

    - It cannot be said that the match was spectacular and will be remembered for a long time by football gourmets. The price was too high, so, as they say in such cases, beauty was not in the foreground.

The opponents did not surprise us with any home-made preparations, and did not take any special risks to minimise the number of losses. "The Shakhtar relied on dominance through ball control, while Dynamo were focused on a quick transition from defence to offence. Not everything worked out for them. Perhaps it was necessary to take into account that there were many young players among the participants who still lacked the experience to demonstrate everything they could in matches of such intensity. I am convinced that the fans were tuning in to see more goal-scoring chances and elaborate combinations, but we have what we have. This happens in matches where the result is the most important thing.

I believe that Shakhtar naturally became the champion, although Dynamo deserved a better fate after yesterday's match," Pukanich said.

  • Artem Dovbyk: "I would like to have Yaremchuk's stubbornness"

    AWAW Aндрiй Кравчук (AWAW)

    12.05.2024, 17:52

The striker of the Spanish "Girona" Artem Dovbyk spoke about his competition with Roman Yaremchuk in the Ukrainian national team.

    - Roman Yaremchuk played a lot of matches for the national team and scored a lot of goals. Everyone remembers his important goals. Whoever is the best will play in the team. When the two of us are on the pitch, Roman and I have our chances. The factor of two strikers helps us.

What skills would I like to see in him? Stubbornness and mobility. He is very persistent and moves a lot. And I would lend him some of my own luck. Because there are moments when the striker does not work. These are the periods. I'm sure he'll be fine," Artem told vZbirna.

  • Journalist tells how Rakitsky "treated" Bondar

    AWAW Aндрiй Кравчук (AWAW)

    12.05.2024, 17:28

Journalist Andrew Todos told an interesting story from the match between Shakhtar and Dynamo in the 28th round of the Ukrainian Premier League.

"There was an interesting moment at the end of the game, when the Shakhtar players just wanted to hold on to their 1-0 win. In one of the episodes, defender Valeriy Bondar collapsed on the pitch and made it clear that he needed medical attention. At that time, the fans in the stands had already started singing the Ukrainian national anthem. I was standing behind Dmytro Riznyk's goal, so I heard the players talking on the pitch. Yaroslav Rakitskiy started shouting at Bondar something like the following: "Get up! Don't you hear the anthem being sung?". After that, Valerii got up. In fact, this is a very important moment! Apparently, Yaroslav's authority played a key role here," Todos wrote on Telegram.
