A senior official at the US Department of Defense, at a closed briefing for journalists held yesterday on April 8, said that it was Russia that launched the missile attack on the railway station in Kramatorsk.

The Pentagon also believes that for the Russian army, this railway will become a strategic object during an attack on the city. According to the US Department of Defense, Russia will use the 18th motorized rifle division of the RF Armed Forces to attack Kramatorsk, formed in 2021. The division consists of three motorized infantry regiments, as well as an armored regiment.
“According to our assessment, it is expected that they will be used where the railway station was attacked. We see the movement of units and the use of force in this zone. This is the main railway junction of the eastern part of Ukraine. And this is a very strategic place. And we saw how they tried to move forces to Kramatorsk, where this railway station is located, ”added the Pentagon.
