Dynamo U-19 midfielder Anton Tsarenko summed up the results of the first half of the season for the White-and-Blues.
— Do you feel the strength to win the championship this season?
- Of course. A team like Dynamo (Kyiv) always sets the highest goals for itself. And the championship this season is one of them.
— What tasks did you set for yourself before the start of the season and to what extent did you manage to fulfill the plan?
- Lead in the championship, and at the same time show high-quality and interesting football. Every day we work on these aspects and try to do our best in this direction.
— During the season, there were both successful matches and not entirely satisfactory results. What motivates you during difficult times?
- In the situation that has developed in our country, it is very difficult to focus only on football. For us, motivation should be people who protect us at the cost of their lives and give us the opportunity to do what we love.
— You are one of the most experienced players on the team. Have the youngest guys already joined the team?
— Yes, there were no problems with that. We will always help and advise at any time.
— For you personally, the first half of the season turned out to be very fruitful, you made your debut for the Dynamo first team. What were your feelings and emotions after the match against Benfica?
- I thank the coaching staff for the opportunity. After the match, there was a double feeling: on the one hand, the debut, and on the other, the defeat of the team.
— What did you learn while training with the first team?
- During the period spent in the first team, I realized how important the speed of thinking and decision-making is in modern football.
— Along with club successes, you also had positive moments at the level of the youth national team of Ukraine - you helped the team secure access to the elite round ahead of schedule by beating Kosovo (1:0), Cyprus (4:1), Sweden (2:0) . How can you evaluate your work?
— It was a successful gathering for our team. We showed a good game and achieved a positive result. My goals are the merit of the whole team. We are very glad that we were able to go to the next round.
— Can you take stock of 2022?
— This year has been difficult, but eventful for all of us. We had good chances to compete for a trophy in the UEFA Youth League, but the war made its own adjustments, and aid to our country came to the fore. Therefore, a number of charity matches were played in support of Ukraine and the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
— What are your vacation plans?
— I plan to devote more time to my family and friends and start working with renewed vigor.
— What could you say to your fans on New Year's Eve?
- Thank you to all the fans for their support in such a difficult time. We believe that justice will prevail in the New Year and Ukraine will win. Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the APU!
