Chelsea are back in talks with Benfica with a new £105m bid for midfielder Enzo Fernandez, The Telegraph reports.
Having failed to conclude a deal at the beginning of January, the Londoners renewed their interest in the Argentine midfielder. The new offer is in line with the player's clause in his contract with Benfica, but sees the money split between one big payment and five smaller ones. The club's management hopes to make progress before the end of the winter transfer window.
If the parties agree, Fernandes will break the Premier League transfer record set by Jack Grealish when he joined Manchester City in 2021 and also eclipse the £97m club fee Chelsea paid for Romelu Lukaku from Inter".
