Portugal forward Cristiano Ronaldo said he could have ended his career with the national team after his unsuccessful performance at the 2022 World Cup.
"I'm not going to lie, in life you have to think through all decisions. My family and I thought about it, but then we came to the conclusion that despite the difficulties, you can't give up. I was able to look at the situation from different perspectives and I learned a lot, and I'm glad to be back.
The head coach made it clear that he was counting on me. I always wanted to play. The coach has talked to all the players, including me, and I know that I can still be useful to the national team. I want to take Portugal to the highest level and I will always help the team when needed," Ronaldo told the Record.
