irst Vice President of the UAF Oleksiy Mykhailychenko on the TV program "Football Format" recalled his team's victory over England (1-0) in 2009 and answered which team he considers to be stronger.
- "England was beaten not only by me as a coach. It was the team - coaches, players and staff - that beat them. Back then, we had a very interesting generation of performers. In my opinion, this was one of the first matches that made Ukraine not only a spectator in big football. Now we are among those teams that do not just play to play or not to get their face in the mud. We play for the result.
Which team is stronger, the 2009 or the current one? You know, I'll say this: tomorrow's. All the steps that the Ukrainian national team is taking now are in order to become better tomorrow. The guys need to be professionals and not think about who the coach is, what kind of training, what kind of lineup. And play with their hearts, because playing for the national team is the highest thing that can be," Mykhailychenko said.
