As a result of yesterday's general training camp of the UPL participants, it was decided to oblige the Chernihiv-based Desna and Mariupol to determine their future by 1 January 2024, the TaToTake telegram channel reports.
As a reminder, both of these clubs failed to participate in the Ukrainian championship of the season 2023/24 due to the consequences of military aggression of the Russian Federation, but Desna and Mariupol were entitled to keep their places in the UPL. In the new season, those teams will again be absent from the championship.
It is also reported that if Desna and Mariupol signify their willingness to participate in the Ukrainian Premier League season 2024/25, the UPL roster will not be increased: in this case, the number of teams who will leave the UPL after the season 2023/24 will simply increase.
