Maxim Mitrofanov, secretary general of the Russian Football Union (RFU), said that Russia had received several million dollars from FIFA for football development programmes.
"So far we have not spent them, so we are waiting. But we are receiving funds under another programme, FIFA Forward. Under the current FIFA Forward programme we received $4.5 million. Now, a new three-year cycle has begun and we expect to receive another $9.5m by 2026 to be spent on development projects. In the situation we have been in for the last two years, there are certain worries, but there are no formal concerns," RB Sport quoted Mitrofanov as saying.
