Shakhtar's reserve goalkeeper Andriy Pyatov will no longer play for the Donetsk team and may even switch to coaching.
This was announced by Shakhtar CEO Serhiy Palkin:
"Andriy Pyatov has now completed his performances as a player for our club. You know that we will play a charity match against Tottenham on 6 August. We have offered Pyatov to play a farewell match to thank him for everything he has done for Shakhtar. This is a good opportunity to see Andrey Pyatov off at a packed stadium. I hope he accepts the invitation, plays in this match, and we will say a very goodbye to the legend of our club.
At the same time, we are saying goodbye to Andriy only as a footballer, but we would like to see him on Patrick van Leeuwen's coaching staff as a goalkeeping coach. We offer Pyatov to stay at the club, because his knowledge and charisma are very important to us. We have a lot of young players, and we need Andriy's experience. So we are confident that he will help."
