Former Dnipro goalkeeper Mykola Medin commented on the fact that Shakhtar goalkeeper Anatoliy Trubin is the most expensive player in the Ukrainian Premier League.

Goalkeepers have become more valuable. Once it was believed that the goalkeeper was half the team, but now it is even more than half. Nowadays, goalkeepers not only defend their goal, they have become, so to speak, field players: they start attacks, manage defence, and make long passes that are effective. Trubin has all these skills. He is also psychologically stable, as well as young and experienced at the same time, which also influenced his value.
Trubin was given a boost in Ukraine, where he learnt the basics of goalkeeping, and now he needs to make a career abroad. "First of all, he needs to be more aggressive at the exits, pass more accurately and learn to make decisions faster," Medin said.
