Former Dynamo Kyiv and Volyn Lutsk defender Yevhen Khacheridi has shared his memories of working with Vitaliy Kvartsyan.
"There were a lot of interesting things. I remember we played with "Energetic" from Burshtyn. It was raining heavily, the pitch turned into mud, and I forgot to take cleats with metal spikes and played in kopochki, and slipped and fell five times.
At half-time, Kvartsyaniy came into the changing room and started shoving everyone. Here the turn comes to me. Vladimirovich was holding a half-litre bottle of water in his hands and as he launched it at me, it hit my knee, leaving a bruise. You could say he repeated the story of Ferguson and Beckham.
We went into the second half fired up and eventually won. After the game Vladimirovich has already cooled down and we had a normal conversation. It was my own fault that I did not take boots with iron spikes.
Kvartsyaniy also had a sheepdog Rocky. A very clever dog! He always took him to training sessions. Rocky took the ball away from us instead of a football player when we played in the square. Vladimirovich used to set an example for us: "That's how to take the ball away!". And Rocky, if he took the ball, he bit it. Therefore, we constantly had to change balls - at least two per training session," - said Khacheridi.
