Ukrainian volunteers will hold an action to thank Poland, its people and government during the Euro 2024 qualifying match between Ukraine and England in Wroclaw today.
The humanitarian headquarters "Restorator. Potato Army" and the Diesel Show Foundation have prepared banners that will be hung during the game, written in Ukrainian and Polish:
"We thank Poland for saving Ukrainian lives and helping our defenders!"
At the end of the match, the Ukrainian banner will be lowered onto the pitch, and the players will sign it. The banner will then be displayed at the Embassy of Ukraine in Poland in Warsaw.
In addition, at the 24th minute of each half, fans will raise Ukrainian cardboard flags above their heads and simultaneously change them to Polish flags. In this way, they will pay tribute to the country where Ukrainians can play football in peace during the war.
Also on the day of the game, fundraising events will be held in Wroclaw, and a humanitarian convoy of 6 vehicles for the Ukrainian Armed Forces and humanitarian aid for IDPs will be driven to Ukraine.
