Ukraine defender Oleksandr Svatok spoke about the team's continued preparation for the Euro 2024 qualifiers against Northern Macedonia and Malta.
Yesterday, the national team of Ukraine held a regular evening training session at the training centre of FC Sparta. Unlike the previous one, it was held in favourable conditions - sunshine and almost spring-like warmth, instead of wind and rain.
In the morning, defender Oleksandr Svatok and goalkeeper Dmytro Riznyk arrived at the blue-and-yellow camp, bringing the national team's squad to full strength. Oleksandr Svatok shared his impressions of his first training session at this training camp.
"It is always a pleasure to come to the national team, so I am very pleased. It took me a couple of days to get here, but it doesn't matter. The main thing is that I came and got involved in the process.
The coaching staff is already making it clear to us what they want to see in the next match against North Macedonia. So we are starting to develop game schemes. We are having very interesting intensive training sessions. It's a bit hard after the journey, but today I've already run around, so tomorrow it will be easier. I don't ask the coaches for any concessions related to my arrival today. I was late for the training camp - I have to make up for it.
Northern Macedonia is a very strong opponent. We saw it in the first match and how they played against the Italians. This is a quality team with good players, so we will have a difficult match. We need to tune in to each game as if it were the last, because it cannot be otherwise in the national team. I am sure that there will be a lot of our fans in the stands, so we expect good support," said Oleksandr Svatok.
