During yesterday's meeting, the UEFA Executive Committee withdrew from consideration the issue of the admission of the Russian U-17 national teams to competitions held under the auspices of the organisation. UAF First Vice President Oleksiy Mykhailychenko expressed his opinion on the situation.
"I am a member of the UEFA National Teams Committee and I do not understand how it is possible to cooperate with the Russians or even be in the same room with them. At the last congress, which took place in Portugal, I saw the attitude of almost all the participants towards the Russian delegation. There were no greetings - they were as if separated from the rest of the football world.
In the international arena, we will prove to everyone that the presence of Russians is unacceptable. They are using their entire arsenal to break into the world. And this is very important to them. I emphasise once again that our position will remain the same as it has been since the first days of the war.
I hope everyone remembers the map of Ukraine and the "Glory to Ukraine!" logo on the national team's shirts. We will always prove our case and fight to keep Russia away from football as far as possible," Mykhailychenko told United News.
