Shakhtar CEO Sergei Palkin commented on the situation with the players' transfer to other teams under Appendix 7 to the FIFA regulations.

"I would like to emphasise the unfair and discreditable decision of FIFA to introduce Appendix 7 to the regulations, which allowed players to terminate their contracts because of the war. Due to this article, almost 15 players left the team for free, the club lost investments and suffered heavy losses. We had to build the team from scratch...", Palkin said in a comment to Shakhtar's official website.
